Artist History
Tosa Mitsuoki (1617-1691) was a Japanese Tosa school painter in the early Edo period. He established the Tosa style of the Edo period by incorporating the painting styles of various schools such as the Kano school and Song Yuan painting, and is believed to have played a leading role in the revival of the Tosa clan.
