It depicts camellia, Japanese bush warbler on plum blossoms, weeping cherry blossoms with long tails, rape blossoms with butterflies, reeds with jade, moon with a glabella, chrysanthemum, maple, and geese, etc., representing the twelve moons. The mounting was done by Fusehara Shunpodo, a Kyoto-based mounting store.

The painter Matsumura Keibun (1779-1843) received his first art lessons from his older half-brother, Matsumura Goshun. Keibun inherited Goshun's studio of the Shijō school of painting afterwards.
