Artist History
Kano Tanshin(1785-1836) was a painter of the Kano school in the late Edo period. He was the seventh generation of the Kajibashi of the Kano school, which was the official painter for the Edo Shogunate. He was an expert in Yamato-e painting. He was appointed as a Hogen(法眼).
