Artist History
Kano Tatsunobu (1815-1891) was a painter from the late Edo period to the Meiji period. He was the 15th head of the Nakabashi Kano school. He was the adopted son of the 14th head, Kuninobu, and the sixth son of Isen'in, the 6th head of the Kobikicho Kano school. After the Meiji Restoration, he served as an auditor at the Imperial Museum and other positions, and became an Imperial Household Artist.
