Artist History
Kano Yusen (1778-1815) was a painter of the late Edo period. He was the son of Kano Kansen. He became the fifth head of the Hamamachi Kano school and succeeded his father as an inner palace painter. He was later appointed as a Hogen (a Buddhist monk). He studied waka poetry under Kato Chikage.
