Artist History
Takahashi Kyoson (1804-1868) was a painter from the end of the Edo period. He was born in Mino. He went to Kyoto to study Southern Song painting under Nakabayashi Chikudo and calligraphy under Rai San'yo. He was skilled in poetry and formed friendships with Yanagawa Seigan and Ohara Tesshin.
