Artist History
Nagai Naotane (1658-1695) was a feudal lord in the early Edo period. He was the third lord of the Takatsuki Domain in Settsu. He was the fourth son of Nagai Naoyuki, the lord of the Yodo Domain in Yamashiro. He excelled in Confucianism and martial arts, and was also said to be skilled in painting.
