Artist History
Hine Taizan (1813-1869) was a painter of the Southern School in the late Edo period. He first studied under Momota Eiun of the Tosa School in Kishiwada, then went to Osaka to study Southern painting under Okada Hankou. He later moved to Kyoto to study under Nukina Kaioku.
