Artist History
Komuro Suiun (1874-1945) was a Nanga painter from the Meiji to early Showa periods. He was born in Tatebayashi, Gunma Prefecture. He learned Nanga from Tazaki Soun and poetry from Yamashita Sesso. He founded the Japan Nanga Academy with Tachika Chikuson and Yano Kyoson, and was active in the modern Nanga artists' world.
