Artist History
Omura Taiun (1883-1938) was a Japanese painter from the Meiji to Showa periods. He was born in Shimane Prefecture. At the age of 17, he went to Kyoto to study under Tuji Kako. He later studied painting at Yamamoto Shunkyo's Sanae-kai art school. He won numerous awards at the Bunten and Teiten exhibitions, and also served as a member of the Teiten committee.
