Artist History
Fukuda Heihachiro (1892-1974) was a Japanese painter from the Taisho to Showa periods. He was born in Oita Prefecture. He moved to Kyoto to pursue painting. He graduated from the Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts and the Kyoto Municipal Painting College. In 1930, he formed the Rokucho-kai with Nakamura Gakuryo and Makino Torao. He served as a professor at the Kyoto Kaisen and also worked to train the next generation of artists. He was receibed the Order of Culture.
