Artist History
【Sakai Sanryo】
Sakai Sanryo (1897-1969) was a Japanese painter. He was born in Fukushima Prefecture. He studied under fellow artist Sakauchi Seiran. He later met Ogawa Usen, who encouraged him to submit his work to the Japan Fine Arts Institute Exhibition and win a prize. He painted rural life and nature, focusing on his hometown of Fukushima and Ibaraki Prefecture, where he lived in his later years.
【Tomiyasu Fusei】
Tomiyasu Fusei (1885-1979) was a Japanese haiku poet. He was born in Aichi Prefecture. He studied under Takahama Kyoshi and founded the haiku group "Wakaba".
