Artist History
Watanabe Kaiko (1841-1915) was a Japanese painter from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. He was born in Niigata and studied under Hasegawa Rankei. He moved to Tokyo and became active in the central art world, receiving a commendation at the 5th ‘Exposition Universelle’ in Paris.
