Artist History
Haruki Nanmei (1795-1878) was a Nanga painter from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. He was born in Edo. He learned nanga from his father Haruki Nanko and excelled in landscape painting and flower-and-bird paintings. He was favored by Yamauchi Yodo, the lord of the Tosa domain. One of his students was Tazaki Soun.
